The Grevelingenmeer lake is a complete aquatic ecosystem offering countless possibilities. It's Europe's largest, saltwater lake. Because its non-tidal, you can head off into the big blue yonder without too much preparation.
Chart a course along the sandbanks – Veermansplaat, Stampersplaat, Hompelvoet and many others. Since the estuary was dammed, they've remained above water level and have been populated by all sorts of flora and fauna that you don't often find elsewhere.
Take a dive along the way or snorkel in the lake's crystal-clear waters to spot tonnes of unusual aquatic flora and fauna.
Alternatively, stop off at Herkingen, Scharendijke, Brouweshaven or Ouddorp for the catch of the day and glass of wine, a bike ride or souvenir shopping.
There are plenty of things to do and see every day of your holiday!
It's easy to get to Zeeland's other waterways from Bruinisse Marina, including the Oosterschelde (Zierikzee, Burgh-Haamstede), Haringvliet and Westerschelde (Vlissingen, Breskens). You can even head out onto the open sea! But there are also great routes heading inland to the Biesbosch, the Waal river and Rotterdam.
Please contact our marina office for additional information and tips for trips out and about on the water.
